Edmond Zhupani

Edmond Zhupani, graduated in 1987 at the Naval Academy in Vlora in the course of pilot of the Navy. After a successful engagement as a ship pilot during 1990 – 1993, he performed the duty of lecturer at the Naval Academy, Vlora in the subjects Maritime Law, Ship Maneuver and Maritime Transport Management. He also completed a short course on maritime transport management at the University of Naples. During 1994-1996 he successfully completed his higher studies at the Leadership Academy in Hamburg (NATO Academy - Admiralty Staff Course). During 1996-1997 he held the position of director of the Albanian Navy and Coast Guard.

From 2003-2005 he attended MBA studies at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tirana. At the same time, during the years 2008-2010, he was the initiator and developer of the project Marina Bishti Palla. In 2008 he was part of the founding group of the Durrës Yacht Club, while during the years 2009-2015 he was the Secretary General of the Albanian Sailing Federation. During this period he participated in a number of regattas in southern Italy, also manintaining the role of judge in the regatta. During the years 2011-2015, he was the initiator and developer of the Marina Porto Palermo project which includes the Cold War Museum in the Submarine Tunnel. He was the Head of the Submarine 105 museum Restoration Project located in Pashaliman.

During 2016-2017 he was a national consultant for the GIZ project "Assessment of Development Opportunities for the Marina Industry & Selected Marina Projects in Albania".

In the framework of the program for the development of the Blue Economy he has served as advisor in the project "Development of water transport in lakes and rivers in Albania." Also in the framework of this project he has drafted project proposals for the development of navies envisaged in Shengjin, Durres and Vlora as well as he has developed the plan of creating the Navigation Academy in the Bay of Vlora.

During 2014 and onwards he directs projects in the field of tourism with a focus on special and rural tourism. This also holds the position of Licensed Travel Manager as well as product developer in the role of consultant for AlbtoursD, VAS Tour Operator shpk and DMC in Balkan.
